Fallout 4 is a post-nuclear apocalyptic action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and released by Bethesda Softworks. It’s the fifth key installment in the Fallout series and was released worldwide on November 10, 2015, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is set inside an open world post-apocalyptic environment that encompasses the town of Boston and the surrounding Massachusetts region called”The Commonwealth”. The main story occurs in the year 2287, ten years after the events of Fallout 3 and 210 years after”The Great War”, which triggered devastating atomic devastation across America.
The player assumes control of a character called the”Sole Survivor”, who originates from a long-term cryogenic stasis in Vault 111, an underground atomic fallout shelter. The Sole Survivor ventures out to hunt for their child after witnessing the murder of the partner and kidnapping of the son. The player completes quests explores the game world, helps factions out, and acquires experience points to level up and increase the skills of their character. New features to the show include the capacity to develop and manage a crafting system and obligations where materials may be used to manage explosives and drugs, upgrade armor and weapons, and build, furnish and improve obligations. Fallout 4 also marks the first game in the series to feature a complete voice acting for the protagonist.
Fallout 4 received favorable reviews from critics with many praising the world thickness, player liberty, overall quantity of content, crafting, and soundtrack, while criticism was mainly directed at the game’s visuals and technical difficulties. The match was a commercial and critical success, generating US$750 million over the first 24 hours of its launch, and received numerous accolades from several gaming publications and award events, including the various awards for Game of the Year and Best Game in the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and British Academy Games Awards. Bethesda has released six downloadable articles add-ons, including the expansions Far Harbor and Nuka-World.
